On Trial: Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

Let’s get to it.  Drunk Elephant is a line of clean skin care that’s been enjoying a lot of buzz for the last few years.  One of their most popular products is a chickpea based mask called T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial.  It’s gorgeous packaging is so Instagram worthy, you can see it all over the social media site in any skin care junkie’s flatlay.

Those who sing its praises, say the T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial is like the holy grail to glowing skin.   This powerful exfoliating mask contains a whopping 25% of AHA and 2% BHA!  With Glycolic plus Tartaric, Lactic, Citric and Salicylic acids, if this mask doesn’t loosen any dead skin you can think of, I don’t know what will.

The first time I used this mask, I instantly got a tingling sensation.  It didn’t bother me, but if you aren’t used to stronger exfoliators, I would suggest testing the product first to see if your skin can handle it.  It’s a very active formula.

I used it as instructed (leave on for 20 minutes) and once I rinsed it off, I really didn’t see a difference in my skin.  I don’t know if it’s because I didn’t have much to exfoliate because I exfoliate with other products already.  But I didn’t want to give up on it.  I left it sitting on my bathroom counter for a few weeks and I decided to revisit it recently.  So one evening, I applied the mask all over my face and allowed it to dry for 20 minutes.  I followed the instruction as directed.

The second time around, I saw a noticeable difference.  My skin had a nice glow to it and although I didn’t have a lot of dead skin to slough off, I reached for this product because my skin was looking a bit dull and I needed my glow back.  My usual product that I use to give me serious glow is M-61 Fast Blast Facial Mask from Blue Mercury.  It’s a quick Vitamin C mask that instantly perks up my skin.

I don’t think the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial will replace my M-61, but I’m going to see what it does on a third usage.
