We are in the winter months. But with the weather in a flux of semi-extreme temperature changes, my skin care now includes a moisturizer that’s a little richer than I’ve ever used and a bit of oil to keep my skin from getting dehydrated. If you’ve been reading my blog, you know that I pretty much have oily skin. The moisturizer I’ve been using is Artistry Hydra V Replenishing Moisture Cream. It’s a skin care line that includes three moisturizers for oily, combo, and dry skin plus a serum. The Hydra V line is targeted towards younger women who are getting into skin care and who need plenty of moisture in their skin. So the Hydra V Replenishing Moisture Cream is formulated for drier skin, but it’s not that heavy feeling cream your grandmother would use. I have oily skin, but I’ve found that this moisturizer has worked well for my skin in the winter months because it contains no spf and made with Blue Lotus Extract and provides a very good amount of hydration and the cream is very lightweight. When the winter time comes, I try my best to keep my skin from becoming dehydrated and this cream hits the spot!
At night, I like to put a few drops of oil into my moisturizer, too. I have a few oils that I like (find out which ones I like in an upcoming blog post), but I wanted to try the new MAC Prep + Prime Essential Oils Yuzu. This versatile oil can not only be dropped into your moisturizer, you can use it alone over clean skin or mixed in with your favorite foundation. This MAC Yuzu oil is incredibly hydrating. I also like to use it in my tinted moisturizer for an even sheerer foundation and it makes your skin otherworldly ethereal.
The jade face roller pictured is something I picked up at a local international store a while back. I started using it when I found out that some facialist like to use this tool to promote lymphatic drainage and to improve circulation for glowing skin! It’s a real jade stone and it feels really good on the skin. The large roller is for the larger area of your face and the smaller roller is for the eye area. It’s suggested that you put the jade roller into the fridge and roll over your face to fight puffiness. But the jade stone is cool on its own. I like to use it after applying my skin care and I use it morning and night.
Lastly, I always like to have a good lip balm on hand. No matter what the season, I have to keep my lips moisturized. My sister let me try her Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Protector in Rose Shimmer when we were running errands together one day and I was instantly hooked. With mango and shea butter, my lips stay super hydrated with a bit of sheen and a pretty pink color that’s very pretty on dark skin.
