Exploring Beauty at Urban Outfitters

One of my favorite things to do is look for what’s new in the world of beauty.  Discovering new innovation or staple items that have been modernized is fun for me.  If you understand where I’m coming from, raise your hand!

My motto is beauty is where you find it.  And such was the case at Urban Outfitters.  I lived in UO when I was in college and fresh out of college.  I would still frequent the store throughout the years, but as I got older, umm, not so much.  It wasn’t until I learned that UO started carrying indie brands that I’ve seen all over the internet that I decided to pay UO a visit after so many years. One thing for sure is that the store looks a lot more organized from what I remember.  And the beauty section was set up like a tiny apothecary.  I didn’t know what to expect in terms of the selection of goods to be had because what’s offered on the store’s website, you may not necessarily find in the actual store.

Not knowing where to start, I did a quick glance to see if I recognized any of the brands I was interested in and I came across a minimalistic line called Herbivore Botanicals.  I’ve seen the line of skin care and body products  all over Instagram and wanted to try.  While UO didn’t carry the skin care items, I did pick up a cute bottle of Calm Bath Salts.  Made with Pink Himalayan Salt from the Dead Sea, the pink crystals looked so pretty in the glass container and smelled so wonderful that I placed it on my basket.

Next, I scored another pretty packaged rose scented Petal Multiuse Oil.  I believe this could be an UO branded product, but I placed that in my basket, too.  I’m a sucker for a good oil. I moved over to the bottled fragrances shortly after testing the oils and was interested in the cute rectangular-shaped bottle of fragrances lined in formation on a table.  The one that caught my eye was a milky white fragrance called Lait de Coco.  The scent sugary sweet scent reminded me of something I’d wear to the beach and that’s exactly where I tend to wear it. I have yet to try my Herbivore Bath Salts, so that’s for another post. 🙂

In the meantime, don’t sleep on UO beauty department.  Not only did I score these gems, I was excited to see that they carried vegan makeup brands OCC and Milk Makeup.

I will be back to stock up for my professional and personal kit!
