When it comes to skin care, there is always a trending ingredient that seems to take center stage. The star ingredient is thrust into the beauty spotlight as the ingredient your skin never knew it needed and within a matter of months or even weeks, you see it in every product imaginable. One such ingredient is hyaluronic acid. Truth be told, I've seen hyaluronic acid while reading the ingredients of skin care products that I've used over the years, but never thought much about it.
When makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury started singing hyaluronic acid's praises as one of the key ingredients in her famed Magic Cream, I started seeing the ingredient hyped damn near everywhere. So, with that in mind, what is hyaluronic acid and what the hell does it actually do?
Well, according to experts, hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring component in our bodies. It's what gives skin its fullness and keeps it plump. Used externally, hyaluronic acid gives skin that's lost its vitality, a big boost of moisture which, in turn, gives it back its plumpness.
So I said all of that to bring you my review of this relatively new skin care product that I've seen on every beauty blogger and skin care junkie's radar. Youth To The People's Kale +Spinach Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Age Prevention Moisture Cream. I would see this product every time I visited Sephora and decided to stop looking at it and purchase a jar.
The Kale +Spinach Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Age Prevention Moisture Cream (that's a long name) is a "superfood" inspired moisturizer that can be used day and night. It's a beautiful shade of the lightest mint green with a gel-cream consistency. It's a very lightweight, wet-feeling cream that took a little bit of work to absorb, but made my skin feel really good. I have oily skin and this imparted a healthy, almost matte appearance to my skin. I thought that was off at first because most creams, especially, don't provide a matte finish to the skin. But this did. I made sure I used it in the morning to see if I got the same results and I did. It wasn't a bad thing because my makeup went on smoothly and evenly. After a week of used as directed on the package, I can definitely see where the hyaluronic acid comes in because it's hella moisturizing, for sure!
I like this cream because it's light and works perfectly for this ghastly humidity we are experiencing in my neck of the woods. It keeps my oily skin well hydrated and balanced. With ingredients that has a "wellness" slant, I can see why the Kale +Spinach Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Cream is all the rage on social media.
