It’s Not Too Late For Summer Radiant Skin

Today, summer officially arrived.  Yay!  That means weekend trips to the beach and hot steamy days at some swanky rooftop hotel.  Nevertheless, when baring your skin in public, make sure your skin looks just as good as the swimsuit it’s in.  Here’s a listing of some things you can do to get your body skin ready for the summer.

Get A Back Facial

Just like your face, your back can be a huge area that’s prone to acne breakouts.  The next time you booking an appointment for a deep cleansing facial, make sure you book a back facial, too.  The same deep cleansing facial you get on your face can be the same one used for your back.  Not only will the facialist steam your back, extractions can and will be performed to get nix blackheads and to treat and prevent acne from returning.  I recommend getting at least two treatments for the summer.  You’ll have so much confidence in wearing that gorgeous strapless number in your closet that you’ve been saving just for that evening summer barbecue!

Consider Laser Hair Removal For Legs and Underarms

Certainly more expensive than shaving or waxing, laser treatments can come in handy in killing off the hair shaft in areas you constantly have to shave.  Depending on the amount of hair you have, the area you want the hair to be removed from, and your skin color, the amount of treatments can vary.  But it’s so worth it in the end.  Going the extra distance to have your legs and other exposed areas of the body lasered can give you the baby smooth skin year round and you’ll never miss the minor cuts from razors or the slightly more painful option of waxing.

Exfoliate Your Body

For skin that glows, think about dry brushing before bathing or using a sweet sugar based scrub to loosen dead skin on legs, arms, elbows and knees.  Another option is using an alpha hydroxy acid based body lotion to keep scaling skin at bay.  For those with severely dry or sensitive skin, proceed with extreme caution.

Protect Your Skin Against The Sun

Outdoor activities, driving, and just hanging out during the summer months gives us great exposure to the sun.  Enjoy the outdoors, but just be sure to protect yourself while you’re out.  Let a quality natural sunscreen be your best friend.

Pedis Are A Must

Getting your feet done is not only a luxury, but for many it’s a necessity.  With all of the cute flats sandals trendy this summer, a fresh pedicure is a great way to look polished whether you’re dressed up or casually lingering at the beach.  Keep your feet soft and pretty at home with good foot file or pumice stone and a moisturizing, but quick absorbent lotion, like Shea Moisture Shea Butter Lotion in Organic Coconut and Hibiscus.
